Grey - like the weather

The weather has been fairly dismal over the last couple of days but added two 'greys' to the mothing year list; Grey Shoulder-knot and Mottled Grey. Otherwise fairly quiet.
A part of 27 Curlew dropped on to fields adjoining the moor at dusk last night so we should at least have displaying Curlews to brighten the days.

Grey Shoulder-knot

Another Large Wainscott last night (fourth of the autumn) plus a fresh Grey Shoulder-knot which has a bit more colour than the over-wintered adult photographed in March. Single Juniper Carpet and three Green-brindled Crescent were the only other moths with the temperature falling to 4 Centigrade.
