Dingy Skipper - Wragg's Quarry, Beeley Moor

At least 10 Dingy Skipper on the wing in Wragg's Quarry this morning. I've only seen them in the quarry over the last 4 or 5 years but last year didn't see any so it's good to see they are still there.

Dingy Skipper

My first Dingy Skippers of the year, and I must have seen 20 around Longstone Edge this morning. The name Dingy is a little unkind as there are beautifully marked when fresh.

Dingy Skipper - Via Gellia

My first Dingy Skippers of the year, rather later than usual. This is one species of butterfly that appears to be holding its own in the area at present.

Garden first Dingy Skipper

Found this Dingy Skipper on the windowsill this afternoon, a garden first, the nearest colony is about a mile away so not totally unexpected.
