Long-eared Owl - Beeley Moor

The Long-eared Owl is without doubt one of the most elusive of our resident birds, there could be a dozen pairs in the wooded moorland fringes bordering Beeley and East Moor but they are almost entirely nocturnal other than for a period in the summer when they are feeding young. This individual is the first I have seen since late last summer.
