Nettle-tap on Forgetmenot

Another common micro moth, the Nettle-tap (Anthophila fabriciana) photographed on Beeley Moor yesterday - new for the blog.

  1. Lovely image. Interesting that you found it high up on Beeley Moor. I've only seen them in the bottom of the valleys by rivers, usually on water mint flowers...

  2. That's a nice photo Rod, the food plant of the larva is the nettle so I guess they can be found in quite a range of habitats. There were plenty in the rough areas bordering the moor.
