Short-eared Owl - a decent photo at last

Two Short-eared Owls were on Beeley Moor again this evening, I first saw this dark breasted individual on Sunday but this is the first photo of it taken by James this evening...I think he was quite pleased.

Two Plumes

Added both Emmelina monodactyla and Amblyptilia acanthadactyla last night, both of which are Plume moths named for the strange wing shapes, plus 5 Dotted Border, 2 Pale-brindled Beauty, Chestnut and Common Quaker.

Spring is in the air - Common Quaker

Two Common Quaker recorded last night, just two days later than last year, single Dotted Border and Pale-brindled Beauty.
The two Short-eared Owls were both hunting on Beeley Moor this evening and the Great Grey Shrike showed on and off most of the day at Wragg's Quarry.

Given how mild it was, temperature around 10 Centigrade all night I was hoping for more but can't complain;

Little Owl - Beeley Moor

Came across this rather distant Little Owl on the edge of the moor. James captured a reasonable photo though on the lichen covered barn.

Just back from a week away but sounds like the weather has been poor here, not bad today but very changeable. There was a brief spell as the sun set that was quite impressive.
