First Spring Usher

Although the temperatures have remained around zero I have been surprised that odd moths are still flying.
25/1 Pale Brindled Beauty 6, Early Moth 1
26/1 Pale Brindled Beauty 2, Early Moth 2
28/1 Pale Brindled Beauty 3 even though the temperature only just got to zero overnight.
29/1 Spring Usher - first for the year.

A quiet week

Overnight temperatures this week were generally a maximum of 5 to 6 Centigrade but down to minus 1 so not much happening;
16/1 1 Early Moth
22/1 1 Early Moth
23/1 1 Pale Brindled Beauty & 1 Early Moth
24/1 1 Early Moth & 1 Chestnut
Better so far tonight on the 25th with 4 Pale Brindled Beauty including 2 of the dark form monacharia which are the first dark individuals of the year.

Pale Brindled Beauty - first for the year

Another reasonable night with the minimum temperature again 9 Centigrade, but with quite a bit of rain.

Warmer weather at last!

I've run the trap every day this year and the only moths trapped since the 2nd have been;
3/1 Winter Moth
10/1 Winter Moth
But with an overnight minimum temperature of 9 centigrade I did much better last night;
