This picture is stunning. I would really like to visit halldale wood but not sure of how to get here/parking etc.Would come from Darley dale and up bent lane.Any help would be great.Thank you
There are several access points in to the wood, you can park in either of two places on Bent Lane just beyond Burley Fields Farm by the old barn (this is very muddy at the moment) or further up the road by the small wood. Alternatively there is access off Hall Moor road through the quarry or along the paved road to the houses (park by the quarry). Finally there is access just above Upperwood Kennels off Sydnope Hill.
Hello, I wonder if anyone knows much about the fascinating ruins in Whitesprings Wood? I visit them quite frequently but would like to know more. There isn't much information from the Woodland Trust so maybe someone with local knowledge can help. Best wishes Alison
I love Halldale Wood ~ it's only a few hundred yards from where I live.

I have to say you've got some marvellous photos on here ... of birds I never even knew were around this area.
